Become a Discovery Education STAR

March 2, 2010

Discovery Education (the Discovery Channel folks) offers an excellent program for educators looking for new technology resources called the Discovery Education Network.  Active members who contribute to the community can gain recognition as Discovery STARS and receive a number of extra benefits, too!

One of the great things about being a STAR Discovery Educator is having so many opportunities to meet like-minded educators and learn what technologies and strategies work for them.  Back in September I was asked to present a session on podcasting at the Western Tennessee Day of Discovery in Collierville, Tennessee.  In October I got to meet a great group of folks both in person and online through the Fall Virtual Conference.  This weekend the Arkansas Leadership Council in association with the North Little Rock Best Buy’s Geek Squad will be presenting We’ve Flipped, a workshop on integrating Flip Video, video editing, and Glogster.

Now is a perfect time to join the Discovery Education community or upgrade to STAR status.  Check ’em out at http://dencommunity.com!
